Often, we imagine God as being like our human fathers.<\/li><li>If you\u2019ve lost your earthly father, God can fill that void \u2014 if you let Him. And that is what we are.\u201d (1 John 3:1)<\/em>This gives us a new identity \u2014 we are beloved sons and daughters, not rejected ones.\u2028It gives us a healthy self-image and confidence.\u2028We are children of the King of the universe \u2014 princes and princesses. \ud83d\udc51<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8cbb59f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"8cbb59f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a1717e9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a1717e9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. He never abandons His children.\u2028<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ed02ccf e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ed02ccf\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31fbd87 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"31fbd87\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>There are many cases where a father leaves his family and his children.\u2028To me, this is shocking \u2014 how can a father do that?\nWhen this happens, children often struggle with low self-worth.\u2028They feel worthless because they think:\u2028\u201cIf I were valuable, my dad would have stayed.\u201d\nThis false sense of worth can cause deep problems later in relationships, at work, or even throughout one\u2019s entire life.\nBut God will never leave you under any circumstances.\u2028He knows you perfectly \u2014 including your flaws \u2014 and yet He stays with you, because He loves you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fa7745a e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fa7745a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-325b14a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"325b14a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p>\u201cThough the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed,\u201d says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c923118 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"c923118\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c5f4bc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c5f4bc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p>\u201cHere is a trustworthy saying:\u2028If we died with him, we will also live with him;\u2028if we endure, we will also reign with him.\u2028If we disown him, he will also disown us;\u2028if we are faithless, he remains faithful,\u2028for he cannot disown himself.\u201d (2 Timothy 2:11\u201313)<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-57825d9 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"57825d9\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-41101e8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"41101e8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">3. He cares for His children.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c2bfdd0 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"c2bfdd0\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7cb5c1a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7cb5c1a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li>He spends time with you.\u2028Many earthly fathers fail here \u2014 because of work, they have little time left for their children, and the children suffer for it.\n(For example, the child who gave his father an hour\u2019s wage, just to buy one hour of his time together.)\nYour heavenly Father loves to spend time with you.\u2028You can always come to Him \u2014 He will never turn you away.\nYou may face rejection in this world,\u2028but God will never reject you.\u2028You can approach Him boldly, stand tall \u2014 because you are no longer a servant, but a son.\u2028You can call Him \u201cDaddy,\u201d and He will not be angry.\nYou don\u2019t need to make an appointment!\u2028(Like when my mom was the president of the Savings Bank and I came to visit her \u2014 I didn\u2019t need an appointment.)<\/li><li>He provides for your physical and spiritual needs.\u2028God\u2019s care reaches into every detail of your life.\nHe gives material blessings \u2014 money, clothes, food, a home, a car, and more.\u2028And He also provides for your spiritual needs \u2014 joy, peace, love, faith, strength, and perseverance.\u2028Part of His care is that He patiently teaches you what is good.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-678d0df e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"678d0df\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-609a50b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"609a50b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div father \u2014 who should create safety \u2014 becomes the one who abuses his children, so that they are afraid of him and feel unsafe in his presence.\nGod is not like that.\u2028He keeps you safe from harm, and you can feel secure in His presence.\n\u201cBe alert and of sober mind.\u2028Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.\u201d (1 Peter 5:8)\nBut the devil can only do what your loving Father allows him to do.\u2028Sometimes God permits Satan to come against you \u2014 not to destroy you, but to test and strengthen your faith.\u2028The trial will not destroy you.\nYou can look toward the day with peace in the morning,\u2028and lie down at night in safety \u2014 because God is watching over you.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b2c8f25 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con gentle.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-539f20f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"539f20f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-da80b16 elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>There are two kinds of mistakes:\u2028\u2013 being only strict, like a policeman (for example, Judit),\u2028\u2013 or being only gentle, like Santa Claus, whose beard you can pull and who grants every wish.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element rules that cannot be broken \u2014 and when we do, there will be discipline.\u2028The perfect Father does discipline, because He loves.\nHow does He discipline?\u2028In many ways \u2014 but what matters is that it doesn\u2019t feel pleasant at the time; it\u2019s painful.\u2028It may be an inner conviction, when you feel the correction in your heart;\u2028or it may come through outward things \u2014 a financial loss, public embarrassment, even sickness.\u2028You may sense that there\u2019s no blessing on your life, that everything is falling apart, and nothing moves forward.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c09123 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"7c09123\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f39fbd4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f39fbd4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p>\u201cMy son, do not make light of the Lord\u2019s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,\u2028because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son...\u2028No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.\u2028Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.\u201d (Hebrews 12:5\u20136, 11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-61e9dc9 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"61e9dc9\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f74413c elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li><strong>Gentle:<\/strong><ul><li>He has a forgiving heart.\u2028When we come to Him with repentance, He lovingly receives us again \u2014 like the father of the prodigal son.\u2028(You could analyze this story in more depth if there\u2019s time.)<\/li><li>He delights in His children.\u2028At Jesus\u2019 baptism, the Father said:\u2028\u201cThis is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.\u201d\nWhen I look at my children, even though I know they have many faults, I still delight in them \u2014 when they smile, play, talk, and grow.\u2028In the same way, the Lord delights in you \u2014\u2028when you pray, when you give thanks, when you take steps of faith, when you pass through trials victoriously.\nHe rejoices in your spiritual growth \u2014\u2028when you mature, when you begin to serve,\u2028when you become a pillar of faith.<\/li><li>You can cry on His shoulder.\u2028When you\u2019re in trouble and broken, He comforts and strengthens you.\u2028You can tell Him everything \u2014 you never need to be ashamed before Him.\nNothing surprises Him \u2014 He already knows everything \u2014\u2028but He always listens when you need Him.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f689d18 e-flex e-con-boxed class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Some practical advice:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72b8344 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"72b8344\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-65aeb85 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"65aeb85\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li>Do not shape your image of God based on your earthly father.\u2028Do not project your father\u2019s character onto God.<\/li><li>Forgive your father.\u2028It may be hard, but remember \u2014 you are not perfect either.\u2028And God\u2019s Word tells us to \u201chonor your father and your mother.\u201d\u2028You can do this by faith.<\/li><li>Examine the areas of your life where you need to grow as a father.\u2028Maybe you work a lot but have no time for your children.\u2028Maybe you are too strict \u2014 or maybe not strict enough.\u2028Study God\u2019s Word to see what kind of Father He is,\u2028and take Him as your example.<\/li><li>If you have lost your father, receive God by faith as your new Father.\u2028You are not an orphan!\u2028You are loved, accepted, and blessed!\u2028You have a place at the table in the family of Christ,\u2028with your heavenly Father.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-29bd80f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"29bd80f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div
